By accessing or using mentor.energy ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Description of Service

mentor.energy is an online platform that connects aspiring energy professionals (mentees) with experienced industry mentors. Our services include mentorship matching, video sessions, learning modules, community forums, and career resources.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update your information as necessary.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at our discretion.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Post false, misleading, or defamatory content
• Share confidential information from mentorship sessions
• Use the Platform for unauthorized commercial purposes
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Platform
• Scrape or collect user data without permission

5. Mentorship Services

5.1 Mentor-Mentee Relationship

mentor.energy facilitates connections but is not a party to the mentor-mentee relationship. Mentors are independent professionals, not employees of mentor.energy.

5.2 No Guarantee of Outcomes

We do not guarantee any specific career outcomes, job placements, or professional results from using our services. Success depends on individual effort and circumstances.

5.3 Session Cancellation

Sessions may be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in forfeiture of the session or fees.

6. Payments and Subscriptions

6.1 Fees

Certain features require payment. All fees are displayed before purchase and are charged in your selected regional currency (NGN, USD, GBP, or other supported currencies).

6.2 Billing

Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis until cancelled. You authorize us to charge your payment method for all fees incurred.

6.3 Refunds

New Premium subscribers may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase. After this period, refunds are provided at our discretion.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Platform Content

All content on the Platform (excluding user-generated content) is owned by mentor.energy and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

7.2 User Content

You retain ownership of content you create but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content on the Platform.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MENTOR.ENERGY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless mentor.energy, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
